Lighting stars you can trust, one at a time.

About this world

Trust

So that one star you have come to trustmakes the next one easy to choose

Whenever you start using a new tool, you are making a small bet. Where does what I enter here end up? Will it still work tomorrow?

Every star in Hoshimado is lit by the same maker, under the same promise: to say plainly what it can and cannot do, and not to cut corners, even where no one is looking.

So the peace of mind you get from trying one becomes trust in the stars you have not chosen yet. What we want to build up is not the number of works, but that trust.

Window

A window is something you look through, and something looked into

Look up from inside a room, and there are stars beyond the window. But from the dark street outside, the lit window itself looks like a star on the ground.

Which side you stand on flips what a window means. You cannot see inside a star, or inside a window, from outside. Yet because the light reaches you, you can feel that someone is there.

Through the window called Hoshimado, you look out at countless lights: works and tools. Beyond each of those lights, there is always a maker.

Constellation

Join the stars you choose, and draw a constellation of your own

A single star is only a point. But choose a few and join them with lines, and a shape with meaning appears.

You choose the stars you can rely on, and you connect them. The constellation you make becomes the shape of what is useful to you, and what you like, in your everyday life.

There are as many constellations as there are people looking up. Hoshimado lights the stars for them, one at a time.

Means

To carry the light to you,we use whatever works

AI, blockchain or plain technology that has been around for years. For Hoshimado, technology is not a flag to wave but a tool for carrying light.

Newness is never the goal. Does it save someone some effort? Does it make someone's night a little brighter? Those are the only reasons we choose it.

So we do not dress our works up in buzzwords. We write honestly about what runs inside.

Horizon

A window is a line drawnbetween yourself and the world

Just as the horizon divides the sky from the ground, a window divides inside from outside. Because there is a boundary, this side is kept safe, and the other side becomes something you want to see.

A boundary is not a wall for shutting things out. It is an open line that lets through light, and views, and sometimes voices.

On this side of the line, Hoshimado lights a lamp and sends the light to you on the other side, hoping that one day light will come back from your window, too.

Software Engineer

I have spent years giving shape to products, with React and Next.js at the core. Following on from my university research in multi-agent reinforcement learning, I now build AI agents that act on their own. YUNA is one of them.

The person inside the window called Hoshimado is me, Takumi Higuchi. On note and on my own site, I write about how I make things and what I am thinking.
